The founders chose the name "Asian Council
of Logistics Management" to identify this as the professional
organization of individuals who have an interest in
Logistics Management. The definition of logistics adopted
by Council is "the process of planning, implementing
and controlling efficient, effective flow and storage
of goods, services and related information from point
of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of
conforming to customer requirements."

professional organization engaged in spearheading logistics
movement. Its objective is to make the participants
conscious to the logistics process, be globally competitive
and to suggest methods of right sizing cost through
Integrated Logistics Management.
